About Focus Iraqi College
Focus Iraqi College was founded in 2011 with the ambitious goal of transforming higher education in Iraq. From the outset, the college was envisioned as a beacon of academic excellence and innovation, dedicated to nurturing future leaders and professionals. The college's curriculum was designed to be rigorous and comprehensive, with a strong emphasis on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. During its formative years, the college focused on laying a solid foundation. By 2013, the college had invested significantly in infrastructure, establishing three state-of-the-art laboratories to support science and engineering education. These facilities were equipped with the latest technology, providing students with hands-on learning experiences that complemented their classroom instruction.
The period from 2016 to 2020 was marked by significant growth and expansion. The student body grew rapidly, reaching over 1,500 by 2018, reflecting the college's rising reputation for academic excellence. To accommodate this growth, the college expanded its campus, adding new buildings and facilities, including a modern library and additional laboratories, bringing the total number of labs to eight. In 2018, the college introduced its first study abroad program, which fully funded selected students to gain international exposure. This initiative highlighted the college's commitment to providing global learning opportunities and broadening the educational horizons of its students. The program was a success, with over 50 students participating in the first year, gaining invaluable experiences and bringing back new perspectives to share with their peers.
In 2021, Focus Iraqi College celebrated its 10th anniversary. The milestone was marked by the inauguration of the Technopolis Centre, a dedicated hub for technological innovation and entrepreneurship. This centre has become a focal point for student and faculty research, fostering collaboration with industry partners and driving innovation. The college also focused on sustainability and social responsibility, integrating these principles into its curriculum and operations. In 2022, the Research, Education, and Application Centre was established, enhancing the college's research capabilities. This centre supports a wide range of research projects, with over 100 faculty-led studies currently underway, addressing key challenges in various fields. To support this increasing number of students, the college further expanded its facilities, including the construction of additional dormitories and recreational spaces. The total number of laboratories also increase, ensuring that students had access to the best possible resources for their education. In response to the digital revolution, the college expanded its online learning platforms and introduced new programs focused on emerging technologies. These efforts have ensured that Focus Iraqi College remains at the cutting edge of educational innovation, providing students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
